Management Information Systems: Management Information Systems (MIS) help managers monitor and control the operations of a business. MIS produce reports on a regular basis, based on data extracted and summarized from the company’s underlying transaction processing systems. For example, a report may show sales by region. Sometimes MIS reports are exception reports. Unlike decision support systems (DSS) which support semi structured and unstructured problems, MIS primarily deal with structured problems.
