Definition of zoom
A change in camera focal length during a shot. Zooming in increases focal length and magnifies a section of the scene, drawing attention to it. Zooming out decreases focal length and results in a wider angle, revealing more of the scene.(VERB) To vary the focal length of a zoom lens. Zoom in - to move from wide angle to telephoto. Zoom out - to move from telephoto to wide angle.
