Silk

 

Meaning of term silk

The fine, strong, lustrous fiber produced by the silk worm, and used for weaving into fabric. The silk thread used in silkscreens for printing is a multi-filament fiber as opposed to a monofilament fiber when nylon, polyester, or wire is used.
